Our Story
Bombay Dinette began as a question: what if a restaurant held its city, its ocean, and its guests with the same care? We cook the food of Mumbai's streets and shores — Koli fisherfolk, Irani cafés, the spice docks of Ballard Estate — but we source like guardians, not extractors.

What We Hold
Every seafood plate is line-caught or farmed with care, chosen with our marine stewards. Nothing endangered, nothing wasted — heads and shells become stock, not landfill.
Coal, clay and cast iron. Our nihari simmers overnight; our breads meet the tandoor to order. Slow is not a luxury here — it is the recipe.
Our team is family, our farmers are partners, our guests are kin. In the Zahan way, nothing on this table was taken — it was cared for into existence.
The Living Reef
The heart of our dining room is a living reef — clownfish, anemones, corals tended with our marine partners. It is our daily reminder: the ocean is not our pantry. It is our neighbour. We cook as guests of the sea.
